ABOUT THE BOOK
The book covers the history of Blossom Valley (located east of El Cajon, San Diego County, California) from
the time the valley was first settled in 1912. The book tells how the valley received its name. It tells how Mr. Elmer G.
Blossom, at the age of 19, started developing 100 acres of flatland in the lower end of the valley. Mr. Blossom, with the
help of one laborer and a mule, cleared the entire 100 acres. He turned the property into a productive ranch growing a variety
of fruit trees and vegetables.
The book includes over 100 pictures taken during the early development and operation of the property. The pictures
came from the family albums. The pictures show some of the old farming equipment and illustrates how it was used in farming.
Some of the fond memories of the author, Edson D. Blossom, and his older brother, Herbert H. Blossom, are also included in
the book.
The first edition of the History of Blossom Valley, printed in 2002, has sold out, but a second
printing is now available from the publisher. In addition, this book can be ordered at most book stores.
