ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Edson D. Blossom, the author of The History of Blossom Valley, is the second son of Elmer and his wife Reba.
Soon after the author was born the family moved to La Mesa, California. Most of his memories of the ranch were from helping
his father maintain the ranch on weekends.
Upon reaching the age of eighteen Edson signed up in the Army Air Corp and served as a weather observer in North
Africa during World War II. After the war he married Ina I. Wicker. They moved to Berkeley where he studied at the University
of California, receiving a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation he worked in the oil and gas business in natural
gas processing plants. He is now retired and living in The Woodlands near Houston, Texas.
